About Bryan Person
My name is Bryan Person, and I am passionate about new media. I want to help you learn how new-media tools such as blogs, podcasts, wikis, and social networks empower you to have a genuine conversation with your customers.
I am a podcaster. New Comm Road is a weekly audio show where I explain how to use new media and how to integrate it into your company’s communications work.
I am also a blogger. The Bryper.com blog is a place for me to share my thoughts, observations, and opinions about the fascinating new-media and social-media space.
I enjoy bringing together talented and creative people. Most recently, I helped to organize the inaugural PodCamp, a free UNconference for podcasters and new-media enthusiasts held from September 8-10, 2006 at Bunker Hill Community College and Harvard University.
I am a presenter. At PodCamp I spoke about the questions that businesses need to answer when deciding whether to start a blog or podcast, and I led a panel discussion about podcast formats.
By day, I am a producer for Monster.com. I create online content that helps people to find a job, start a new career, and understand life in the workplace.
On the personal side, I enjoy learning languages. I speak fluent Spanish and coversational Portuguese, and I know bits and pieces of French, Swahili, and Tetum (the national language of East Timor). I have a wife and daughter from Kenya, with a newborn due very soon! We live in the Boston area.
