Blasting off at point 0 — Pick a username and screename that reflects your brand. Two good examples: flickr.com/photos/FinancialAidPodcast, and flickr.com/photos/electricsky/.
1. Fill out your profile, with links to your other online sites and your contact information.

2. Tag, tag, tag your photos! Searches will show up in Technorati. Allows you as a user to see photos from others who’ve used an identical tag and vice-versa. Example tag: “PodCampToronto”
3. Add a good description to your photos, including links. This will help you Google rankings.

4. Leave comments! Using simple HTML code, add an image and/or link back to your site in the comments area. Also good for Google juice.
5. Blog your photos. Blog others’ photos. Make sure to check that other Flickr users have given you permission to blog their photos.

6. Use RSS feeds. Subscribe to your friends’ photos. Subscribe to a tag for an event. Click on the “feed” button at bottom of a page and add it to your RSS reader.
Advanced features:
7. Upload photos from your mobile phone to your Flickr account … and then also send them on to your blog, using Blogger, Typepad, and WordPress.
8. Join a Flickr group. For example: Photo Safari Montreal.
9. Geotagging, maps with Flickr photos, Flickr, etc. Check out more goodies at http://flickr.com/services/

11|Mar|2007 2Thanks for the comment, Beth. I’m hoping these notes will be a helpful guide to some of the great ways we can put Flickr to use.
Hope you can listen in, too, to the actual podcast that these comments were made for. You’re in there

18|Mar|2007 3Hi Bryper:
Great job with the Six Points of Flickr. I heard you on Mitch’s podcast. I didn’t realize you can upload photos via your cell phone - fantastic tip!
I have some updating to do to my Flickr account now that I’ve heard your two cents.
Thanks a million.
Congrats on your baby too!
Cheers,
Dave
